Duties / Responsibilities- Performs, in areas trained, advanced neurophysiology testing procedures, EEG, EP, NCS, EMG using age/developmentally appropriate guidelines.
- Must be capable of handling multiple tasks effectively and able to maintain a professional demeanor during stressful situations.
- Maintain clinic schedule; contacts patients to schedule procedures when needed.
- Prepare patient charts and interpret information accurately from reports.
- Prepares, organizes, and summarizes data for physician review.
- Enter all required information for reporting purposes.
- Educate patient/family about diagnostic procedures and provide pre- and post-education.
- Cleans, replenishes, maintains, and assures availability of instruments and supplies for patient safety.
- Ensures electrode and equipment integrity, maintains and catalogs supplies, and patient preparation.
- Performs routine testing under supervision; writes a descriptive technical analysis, calculates nerve conduction values.
- Conduct and analyze, as trained, complex electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction velocity NCS, or other neurodiagnostic tests.
- Observes, measures, and record the electrical activity and brain wave patterns by using an encephalograph.
- Monitor patient’s comfort during tests.
- Inspect, analyze, and troubleshoot client systems and equipment, run tests, interpret the results, source replacement parts, and negotiate costs with suppliers.
- Communicate effectively with team members and Neurologist physicians.
- And other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree in Applied Science or higher is preferred or a graduate from a CAAHEP accredited Neurodiagnostic program CoA-NDT, CAAHEP..
- Hold at least one (1) registration by ABRET preferred.
- R. EEG T or R. EPT certification required by end of first year of employment with SRC.
