Join Our Team:
We are searching for a part-time Patient Service Representative for our Tesson Ferry Pediatrics office located at 13303 Tesson Ferry!
- Part-time opening
This position is scheduled for three (3) days per week, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m.
Specific workdays will vary from week to week based on business needs, so flexibility is required.
- One Saturday morning from 7:30 a.m.
- 12:00 p.m. will be required approximately 1 - 2 times a month. - No nights or holidays
- Outpatient clinical practice
Day-to-Day:
- Perform patient check-in/out
- Collect co-payments
- Verify insurance
- Answer the telephone
- Balance monies at day end
- May be required to enter physician-related charges into the computer
- May be required to bill hospital/nursing home charges
Who we are seeking (preferred):
- The Patient Service Representative is highly visible in their interactions with patients and must therefore project a positive office image at all times including smiling, greeting patients with enthusiasm, and maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude in all interactions with patients and coworkers.
- Formal training which will probably be indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 or more years of experience working with the public, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology,
- Knowledge of the different types of health insurance plans; i.e. HMO’s, PPO’s, etc.
- Medical coding familiarity.
- Willingness to assign high priority to patient comfort and satisfaction.
- Ability to communicate effectively and to work compatibly with physicians, coworkers, and employees in other departments.
