About the Position

The Coding Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely assignment of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes, as well as DRG and APC groupings for inpatient, outpatient, and clinic encounters. This role ensures that coding practices support optimal reimbursement, regulatory compliance, and quality reporting. A strong understanding of coding guidelines, documentation requirements, and federal regulations is essential to ensure integrity and accuracy in the health record.

we are looking for

Education and Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited Health Information Management (HIM) program or Certified Coding Specialist program.
  • Must hold a current coding credential, which may include: RHIA , RHIT , CCS , CCS-P , CCA, CPC-H , and/or CPC-P .
  • Minimum of one (1) year of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of official coding guidelines, coding systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency with coding software, encoders, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must possess one or more of the following current and valid credentials
  • RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator)
  • CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
  • CCA (Certified Coding Associate)
  • CPC-H (Certified Professional Coder
    - Hospital Outpatient)
  • CPC-P (Certified Professional Coder
    - Payer)
