This examination is being given to fill 3 vacancies in the Correctional Health Services department and to establish an eligible list to fill future vacancies. Pre-Employment Drug Screening and Background :
Potential new hires into this classification are required to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and a background investigation as a condition of employment. Final appointment cannot be made unless the eligible has passed the drug screen and successfully completed the background process. The County pays for the initial drug screen.

Please note that this position requires successful completion of a law enforcement background investigation.

The Mental Health Clinician II provides professional casework services, utilizing modern treatment methods to address the social and psychological aspects of mental illnesses and disabilities. They build effective therapeutic relationships with clients, families, and healthcare professionals, analyze data to identify client needs, and implement appropriate interventions. The role requires clear and comprehensive record-keeping, effective communication with multidisciplinary teams, and proficiency in related computer applications to support client care.

Must possess and maintain a valid California license as a
Psychologist issued by the California Board of
Psychology.

Special Requirement:
Offers of employment are contingent
upon passing a background
investigation and drug screen.

Must possess and maintain a valid license as a Licensed
Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family
Therapist (MFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical
Counselor (LPCC) issued by the California Board of
Behavioral Sciences.

Special Requirement: AND FOR both patterns

License:
Graduation from an accredited university with a
master’s or doctorate degree in social work, counseling,
psychology or other course of study acceptable to the
State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences towards
licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW),
Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), Licensed
Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Psychologist.

Monthly Salary

Education:

Possession of a valid California driver’s license if
required by the nature of the assignment.
