We provide weekly clinical supervision aimed at promoting the effective accumulation of clinical hours. This structured support is designed to enhance professional development and ensure a comprehensive understanding of clinical practices.

Summary

Description:

The Clinician - Youth ACT plays a pivotal role in providing mobile and community-based mental health services and support to youth in alignment with the Youth ACT program. This position focuses on addressing the unique mental health needs of young individuals, fostering resilience, and promoting overall mental well-being.

The Youth ACT Team serves children/youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) throughout Westchester County, who are returning home from inpatient settings or residential services, at risk of entering such settings, or have not adequately engaged or responded to treatment in more traditional community-based services. Youth ACT team delivers intensive, highly coordinated, individualized services and skilled therapeutic interventions through an integrated, multidisciplinary team approach to better achieve success and maintain the child in the home, school and community.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group counseling services to youth participants of the Youth ACT program in the home and community.
  • Collaborate with the Youth ACT Team, school personnel, parents, and external partners to assess and address the mental health needs of youth.
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to determine treatment goals and intervention strategies.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate therapeutic interventions to support youth in achieving their mental health goals.
  • Participate in case conferences and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create holistic care plans for youth participants.
  • Facilitate psycho educational workshops and support groups to enhance mental health awareness and coping skills.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of youth participants, adjusting interventions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and legal/ethical standards.
  • Provide 24 hour crisis intervention and support to youth experiencing mental health emergencies on a rotating basis.
  • Stay informed about best practices and evidence-based interventions in youth mental health.
  • Specialized knowledge and experience in addressing the mental health needs of youth.
  • Proficiency in individual and group counseling techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school personnel, parents, and external partners.
  • Skill in conducting comprehensive mental health assessments for youth.
  • Ability to provide effective crisis intervention and support.
