Altruix is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy team in Annapolis, MD. This is a full-time, onsite position primarily working Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, with occasional Saturday shifts as needed.

Depending on experience, strengths, and business needs, Pharmacy Technicians may support Production, Data Entry, or Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) functions. This is a great opportunity for technicians with experience in high-volume prescription fulfillment, pharmacy data entry, insurance processing, or patient and facility coordination.

Compensation for this role ranges from $20 – $23 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Main Responsibilities

Responsibilities may vary based on assigned function and may include:

Production
  • Fill, package, and label prescriptions in accordance with state regulations and pharmacy procedures.
  • Support high-volume prescription fulfillment while maintaining accuracy and productivity standards.
  • Operate pharmacy production and packaging equipment as assigned.
  • Assist with inventory management, medication returns, cycle counts, and proper disposal processes.
  • Prepare completed prescriptions for delivery to partner facilities.
Data Entry
  • Input patient information, prescriptions, and medication orders accurately into pharmacy systems.
  • Maintain and update resident profiles, including medication changes and order clarifications.
  • Process inbound faxes and triage new prescriptions received from facilities and providers.
  • Review prescription information for accuracy and identify missing or incomplete information.
  • Communicate with pharmacists, facilities, and internal teams to resolve prescription questions and ensure timely order processing.
Patient Care Coordinator (PCC)
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for patients, providers, and partner facilities.
  • Coordinate prescription orders and follow up on pending prescriptions or required documentation.
  • Assist with insurance verification, prior authorizations, benefits investigations, and medication access issues.
  • Communicate with providers and facilities to obtain prescription information and resolve medication-related concerns.
  • Provide strong customer service through phone, email, and other daily interactions.
  • Coordinate with pharmacists and internal pharmacy teams to ensure patients receive medications accurately and on time.
All Pharmacy Technicians
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow pharmacy policies and procedures.
  • Answer incoming calls and assist with inquiries as needed.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, technicians, and other team members.
  • Escalate issues or concerns to the pharmacist or Pharmacy Manager as appropriate.
  • Assist with training and cross-functional pharmacy needs when applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Active Maryland Pharmacy Technician registration/certification as required by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn pharmacy systems.
