Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)
Location: River Bend Nursing and Rehab - Evansville, IN

River Bend Nursing and Rehab is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to provide rehabilitation services to residents at our skilled nursing facility in Evansville, IN.

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant assists with implementing individualized occupational therapy treatment plans under the direction of an Occupational Therapist and provides therapeutic services designed to improve residents' ability to perform activities of daily living, maintain independence, and achieve their highest level of function.

Shift Available

FULL TIME

Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy services within the COTA scope of practice in accordance with established standards of practice, department procedures, and productivity standards

  • Assist the Occupational Therapist with resident evaluations as directed

  • Assist the Occupational Therapist with developing and implementing individualized treatment plans

  • Provide therapeutic interventions designed to improve strength, coordination, balance, mobility, and functional independence

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living and functional tasks to promote independence

  • Provide therapeutic activities and exercises based on individual resident needs and established treatment plans

  • Monitor resident response to treatment and communicate progress or changes to the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary care team

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided

  • Follow all applicable clinical, regulatory, and facility standards

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program

  • Current certification and licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in the practicing state

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Commitment to resident-centered care

  • Ability to work collaboratively with the rehabilitation and interdisciplinary teams

  • Willingness to participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain current licensure and certifications
