The Transfer Technician is responsible for responding to first‑call dispatch requests and performing the removal and transfer of decedents in a manner that upholds the highest standards of professionalism, dignity, and compassion. - Respond promptly and professionally to ASD first-call notifications, Transfer Coordinator communications, and department manager requests.
- Conduct residential, facility, and coroner removals in accordance with established protocols, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as lead or provide support during transfer operations, ensuring adherence to procedural and safety standards.
- Utilize Case Management platform when initiating cases to accurately identify decedent ‘s records.
- Support branch operations, including transfers, errands, vehicle services, linen management, janitorial duties, and other operational tasks as needed or assigned.
- Serve as lead or provide support during transfer operations, ensuring adherence to procedural, safety, and quality standards.
- Maintain professional, respectful, and compassionate interactions with families, medical personnel, and public officials while demonstrating strong situational and operational awareness.
- Review and acknowledge daily communications, scheduled transfers, and logistics postings to ensure proper planning and coordination.
- Communicate effectively using all organization-approved software, technology systems, and communication platforms.
- Maintain composure, sound judgment, and leadership in high-stress or emergent situations.
- Foster a collaborative work environment and demonstrate a commitment to teamwork.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Transfer Coordinator to support operational needs and evolving departmental requirements.
- Ability to independently lift, maneuver, and transport 150–200 pounds while adhering to proper lifting techniques and requesting assistance when appropriate to ensure safety.
- Ability to safely operate stretchers, cot, and other lifting and transport equipment.
- Ability to work in residential, medical, and outdoor settings under varying environmental conditions.
- Ability to follow all departmental safety practices, protocols, and regulatory standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must meet organizational and insurance‑carrier driving record standards.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable Health Department authorization.
- Must possess a compatible smartphone capable of supporting required applications and communication tools.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to perform essential job functions.
