SummaryGoldbelt Professional Services is seeking a Data Analyst II to provide statistical support for the International Infection Control Program (IICB).
Responsibilities Essential Job Functions- Mid- to senior-level statistical support to conduct analyses necessary to populate a network analysis tool or other activities, as requested, including collaborating with CDC investigators to create code or conduct analyses.
- Utilize research methodology and data collection tools to ensure appropriate healthcare epidemiology, HAI, and adverse event data are gathered.
- Design and maintain databases for management, using tools including but not limited to Access and Red Cap.
- Conduct data analyses including cohort studies and case-control studies, potentially requiring knowledge of Bayesian inference or Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methods; extract data from surveillance systems and special studies for COVID-19 and healthcare-associated infections.
- Prepare preliminary interpretations of analyses for scientific and public audiences, project teams, and/or management.
- Prepare technical and non-technical summaries, scientific reports, and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed literature.
- Use data and other performance/evaluation information to disseminate scientific information related to COVID-19, multidrug-resistant organisms, and healthcare-associated infections in the form of presentations, reports, slides, and other materials (e.g., newsletters, federal documents).
- Advise and consult on statistical methods and quantitative policy analysis for the Division's senior scientists and various individuals, groups, and organizations working on infection prevention and control nationally and internationally.
- Assist in writing protocols describing standard practices for design, implementation, and presentation of statistical analyses of existing and proposed studies conducted by DHQP/IICP or in collaboration with other agencies.
- Provide accelerated analysis and evaluation of data during agency emergencies from pandemic or epidemic outbreaks to support critical decision-making.
- Provide leadership to develop new and innovative analytic approaches for studying infection prevention and control activities, including surveillance data, observational studies, quantitative policy analysis, health system studies, and disease models.
- Participate during CDC response activities and training exercises under direction of the DHQP Team Lead; duties include staffing the EOC desk to help support CDC's mission
- Knowledge and skill in applying advanced statistical methods, epidemiologic study designs, Bayesian inference, MCMC, network analysis, and disease modeling to healthcare and public health data.
- Ability to design, maintain, extract, validate, and analyze data using surveillance systems, research databases, REDCap, Access, and other analytic tools.
- Knowledge of healthcare-associated infections, multidrug-resistant organisms, outbreak response, surveillance, infection prevention and control, and related public health research methods.
- Ability to interpret complex analyses and prepare clear technical and non-technical reports, manuscripts, presentations, briefings, and other scientific products for diverse audiences.
