Labcorp is seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to join its team at Henry Ford St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan
.

In this leadership position, the successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of the Core Laboratory
, ensuring accurate and timely testing, effective workflow management, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and appropriate staffing. The role also involves supervising, training, mentoring, and developing laboratory professionals.

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Core Laboratory.
• Ensure laboratory tests are performed accurately and results are reported promptly.
• Supervise, train, mentor, and develop laboratory personnel.
• Monitor laboratory workflow and ensure appropriate assay coverage.
• Ensure adequate staffing across all shifts.
• Investigate and resolve production or testing errors, escalating issues when necessary.
• Support continuous improvement in laboratory processes and service levels.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained through quality control procedures.
• Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documentation.
• Evaluate process improvements and recommend appropriate changes.
• Provide regular coaching and performance feedback to laboratory staff.
• Perform bench work when required and maintain technical competency.
• Ensure laboratory activities comply with applicable state and federal regulations.
• Administer and implement laboratory policies and procedures.
• Maintain payroll and personnel records and perform other administrative duties as needed.

• Associate degree in Chemical Science, Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience working as a Technologist or Technician
  .

• At least 2 years of supervisory or team-leadership experience
  .
• ASCP or AMT certification
  .

• Non-traditional degrees with applicable science coursework may satisfy the educational requirements if they meet CLIA standards.
• Strong knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and applicable state regulations
  .
• Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures.
• Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to make sound decisions in a changing and fast-paced environment.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
• Ability to pass a standardized color-blindness test.
