Job OverviewLabcorp is seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to join its team at Henry Ford St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan

In this leadership position, the successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of the Core Laboratory
, ensuring accurate and timely testing, effective workflow management, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and appropriate staffing. The role also involves supervising, training, mentoring, and developing laboratory professionals.

Key Responsibilities- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Core Laboratory.
- Ensure laboratory tests are performed accurately and results are reported promptly.
- Supervise, train, mentor, and develop laboratory personnel.
- Monitor laboratory workflow and ensure appropriate assay coverage.
- Ensure adequate staffing across all shifts.
- Investigate and resolve production or testing errors, escalating issues when necessary.
- Support continuous improvement in laboratory processes and service levels.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained through quality control procedures.
- Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documentation.
- Evaluate process improvements and recommend appropriate changes.
- Provide regular coaching and performance feedback to laboratory staff.
- Perform bench work when required and maintain technical competency.
- Ensure laboratory activities comply with applicable state and federal regulations.
- Administer and implement laboratory policies and procedures.
- Maintain payroll and personnel records and perform other administrative duties as needed.
- Associate degree in Chemical Science, Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience working as a Technologist or Technician

- At least 2 years of supervisory or team-leadership experience
. - ASCP or AMT certification
.
- Non-traditional degrees with applicable science coursework may satisfy the educational requirements if they meet CLIA standards.
- Strong knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and applicable state regulations
. - Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures.
- Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to make sound decisions in a changing and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Ability to pass a standardized color-blindness test.
