* Summary:
** Provides direct and indirect patient care in specific treatment, support and maintenance of rehabilitation services programs; provides educational support to students; assists the rehabilitation therapist with assessment and supervision of students and volunteers; assists in administrative and clerical functions within rehabilitation services department. The starting pay for this position is $24.07/hour which includes a comprehensive benefits package.##

* Qualifications:
** Required
Education and Experience License and Certification Requirements License to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the State of New York.
Education and Experience Associates degree from an approved physical therapist assistant program.
NOTE:
1. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain New York State licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.
2. Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with current state licensure.
* Strong interest in pulmonary rehabilitation and cardiopulmonary patient care.
* Willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to the ongoing development of the pulmonary rehabilitation program.
* Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to monitor patient volumes, scheduling, and program workflow.
* Experience or interest in working with patients with COPD, and other chronic respiratory diseases including lung cancer.
* Ability to monitor vital signs, oxygen saturation, symptoms, and patient responses to exercise safely and effectively.
* Strong patient education skills related to exercise, breathing techniques, energy conservation, and healthy lifestyle behaviors.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
* Collaborative team player who works effectively with physical therapists, nurses, and physicians.
* Committed to providing compassionate, high-quality patient care and improving patient outcomes.
