Department: Respiratory Therapy
Shift/schedule: Full Time (36 hrs/wk)
Works under the supervision of the Manager of Respiratory Therapy. The RCP III's primary job function is to provide high quality respiratory care delivery to the SOMC patient population in accordance with hospital policy. Collects vitals, chief complaints, pain assessment, and documents past medical history as needed. Phones prescriptions to pharmacies as needed, operates medical equipment, and performs patient education. Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications Education- High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required
- Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program accredited by CoARC or other deemed accrediting body.
- RT(OH) required
- RRT required
- BLS within 90 days of hire required
- NRP within 6 months of hire required
- Work and/or educational experience that promoted group/team working relations is preferred.
- Minimum three years post graduate experience in the practice of respiratory care, two years specific to acute care delivery and one to two years of tertiary level respiratory care experience preferred.
