* Work Commitment: 40 hours/week, 80 hours/pay period
Position Overview:
Central Valley Fire District (CVFD) is seeking qualified and motivated EMTs to join our EMS Division. This full‑time position supports non‑emergency interfacility transports (IFTs) and selected out‑of‑district 911 meet‑up/transports. EMS Division EMTs play a critical role in expanding EMS capacity, relieving pressure on suppression crews, and enhancing service delivery to rural communities.
This position offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to be part of an innovative and growing EMS model.
Primary Responsibilities:- Provide non-emergency medical transport for patients between healthcare facilities
- Assist in select 911 transports
- Deliver high-quality patient care under CVFD and partner agency protocols
- Ensure safe vehicle operation and timely documentation of patient care
- Current EMT certification (State of Montana or National Registry)
- Valid CPR/BLS certification
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Successful completion of a background check
- Participation in a structured interview and a medical scenario assessment
- Completion of CVFD district orientation and policy compliance
- Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism in medical environments
- Prior experience in EMS transport or interfacility transfers
- Familiarity with rural EMS operations or multi‑agency coordination
