Work EnvironmentOur facility, located in the heart of Ossining, operates in a vibrant hospital setting where dynamic interactions with various healthcare professionals are commonplace. The supportive atmosphere encourages the sharing of knowledge and practices aimed at patient recovery. As a member of our team, you will work onsite with patients from diverse backgrounds and varying conditions, oftentimes within rehabilitation rooms and treatment areas specifically designed for therapeutic activities.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate closely with licensed physical therapists to implement tailored treatment plans, adapting techniques as necessary to meet individual patient needs.
- Conduct hands‑on therapy sessions, applying various methods such as manual therapy and therapeutic exercises under supervision.
- Educate and instruct patients about rehabilitation exercises and at-home activities to ensure progress is maintained outside of therapy sessions.
- Monitor and document patients' progress meticulously during each therapy session, adjusting treatment strategies in consultation with the supervising physical therapist.
- Support the overall healthcare team by participating in multidisciplinary discussions, focusing on updates, challenges, and patient feedback to optimize care delivery.
- Utilize evidence-based practices, including trigger point therapy techniques, when appropriate to provide enhanced patient outcomes.
- Promote occupational health initiatives within the facility to ensure an integrated approach to rehabilitation.
In this role, you will interact with a wide range of patients, from children recovering from sports injuries to seniors undergoing rehabilitation for post-operative care. Your compassionate approach will be essential as you guide them through pain management and mobility enhancement, helping each patient to regain their autonomy and improve their functional capabilities.
Qualifications- A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant is required.
- Must hold and maintain a current state PTA license.
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience working as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a clinical or hospital setting is expected.
- Thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and relevant medical terminology is crucial.
- Proficiency in manual therapy techniques to provide optimal patient care.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and provide quality patient care with a compassionate approach.
- Experience working in an orthopedic clinic or similar environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient progress accurately.
- Prior involvement in a multidisciplinary health care team.
