WorkEnvironment
The role is based in our bustling rehabilitation facility in Huntington, New York, where you will enjoy a welcoming atmosphere alongside a skilled and compassionate team of healthcare professionals. Operating onsite allows for immediate access to multidisciplinary collaboration, enhancing patient care. Our work schedule is Monday to Friday, with two possible shifts: 9 AM to 5 PM or 8 AM to 4 PM, allowing you a balanced work-life environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical conditions upon their initial consultations, utilizing a range of clinical tools and methodologies.
- Create and implement tailored rehabilitation treatment plans focused on improving mobility, reducing pain, and restoring function using evidence-based practices.
- Utilize therapeutic techniques including manual therapy, exercise prescription, and patient education to help individuals regain their independence.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care and address any co-morbidities affecting patient rehabilitation.
- Mentor and guide physical therapy interns and students in clinical practices and evidence-based techniques, contributing to the education of the next generation of physical therapists.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to initiatives aimed at improving patient care and operational efficiency.
- Engage in clinical research initiatives aimed at expanding treatments and assessing outcomes within your area of expertise.
As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will primarily work with adults suffering from various orthopedic conditions, including post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries, and chronic pain syndromes. Your approach will be patient-centered, focused on understanding individual needs and establishing rapport, which is critical for effective recovery.
Qualifications- A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required; a Master's Degree is preferred.
- Active Physical Therapy license in the state of New Jersey.
- A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in a clinical orthopedic setting.
- Certifications such as board certification in Orthopedic Physical Therapy are highly desirable.
- Proficient clinical assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic modalities skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Experience with advanced therapeutic modalities, such as dry needling or therapeutic ultrasound, is a plus.
- Background in mentoring or training interns and less experienced staff in physical therapy practices.
- Knowledge of coding and billing processes relevant to physical therapy services.
The position offers a competitive annual salary in the range of $90,000 to $110,000.
