Take advantage of a rare opportunity to join Team Health’s clinical leadership team as aregional medical director within our post-acute care division. If hired for this role we ask that you live in, or relocate to, the Southwest region of the country.

In this role, you will lead a robust team within your region to maintain an outstanding culture that provides the highest level of patient care and experience. You will partner with clinical leaders, clinical educators, and medical directors to develop new business and improve current facility outcomes within the region.

The RMD is charged with overseeing the provision of services to clients, including clinical service delivery, and fiscal affairs related to their assigned region.

  • Provision of clinical leadership and coordination of clinical leaders, clinical educators, and medical directors along with leadership in new business development and existing portfolio
  • Working in a regional dyad leadership model with the vice president of operations
  • Participation in clinical rounding/facility medical directorship duties, should not exceed 20% of primary responsibilities
  • Working closely with the VPO, clinical leaders, clinical educator and facility leadership will drive expectations that support the goals of consistent clinical performance to ensure optimal clinical outcomes, clinician experience and patient experience
  • Working collaboratively with the national clinical educator and senior vice president of medical affairs to drive value-based care performance improvement outcome goals
  • Assuring clinicians are rounding consistently within facilities and mentoring clinicians to create positive outcomes to drive performance
  • Supporting recruiting efforts to hire and retain clinicians who are passionate about post-acute care
  • Ensuring the onboarding experience of clinicians and clinical leaders is comprehensive and positive
  • Scheduling, attending and leading regional practice group meetings
  • Contributing to the development of annual budgets with VPO and managing contracts and clinicians to meet budgetary expectations
  • Participating in regional monthly operating reviews and quarterly practice review
  • Responsible for implementing recommendations from quarterly practice reviews
  • Mentorship and leadership of practice groups, clinicians and medical directors
  • Leading national clinical initiatives under the SVP of medical affairs from conceptual phase through execution to improve quality care delivery, maximize efficiency and enhance both the clinician and the patient experience
Qualifications
  • M.D. or D.O. degree with board certification
  • Five or more years of leadership experience managing clinicians
  • A regional and/or national reputation in quality outcomes
  • Experience and knowledge in evidence-based medicine, quality improvement, CMS pay-for-performance metrics and clinical information technology and implementation
  • Possesses understanding of clinical workflow in both inpatient and post-acute setting with an interest in clinical information systems and outcomes measurement
  • Understands major trends in healthcare and managed care, and is familiar with point of care products and medical informatics trends and tools
  • The ideal candidate will have created the vision within their current function and raised broader issues, influencing overall organizational strategy, thereby contributing to the larger planning process and helping shape the future of the entire organization
  • A track record of translating overarching organizational strategy into an effective, long-term action plan for the RMD function
