JOB SUMMARY
The Supervisor of NGS plays a pivotal role in the clinical laboratory's day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient workflow, regulatory compliance, and supervising laboratory personnel. This position is responsible for maintaining optimal laboratory coverage, overseeing personnel, and implementing process improvements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop schedules to ensureoptimallaboratory coverage fortimelyresultsreporting.
- Supervise laboratory personnel, providing training, mentorship, and performance feedback.
- Establish andmaintainstandard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory operations.
- Manage laboratory inventory, including ordering supplies as needed.
- Review instrument maintenance logs and QC records, taking corrective actions as required.
- Conduct and oversee testing procedures,troubleshoot assay performance when necessary.
- Evaluate, suggest, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Compile and analyze data,preparing and presenting laboratory metrics and progress reports.
- Ensure staff training and competency align with laboratory regulations.
- Maintain laboratory compliance according to CAP, NY, CLIA regulations, and 5S standards.
- Perform test cost analysis and forecasting for full-time equivalent (FTE) needs.
- Undertake other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a discipline relevant to clinical laboratory work.
- Six years of relevant experience.
- MB(ASCP) or CG(ASCP).
