Stay Healthy Hawaiʻi Workplace brings telehealth education, digital health literacy, and primary care connection directly into workplaces across Hawaiʻi. The program is part of Pili Ola, the telehealth initiative of Hawaiʻi’s Rural Health Care Transformation Program, administered by the University of Hawaiʻi Telecommunications and Social Informatics Research Program (UH TASI).

The Telehealth Facilitator delivers the Workplace Program on the ground at participating employer and community sites. Under the supervision of the TW Program Manager, this position leads employee education sessions, staffs information and resource tables, and provides one-on-one navigation support that helps employees use telehealth confidently and connect with a regular source of primary care.

The Facilitator is the primary point of contact for employees during program delivery. Beyond session delivery, the Facilitator develops and maintains the insurance-specific navigation materials, provider resources, and participant handouts the program depends on, and contributes field observations that shape the standard operating procedures used across sites. The Facilitator works worksites independently with remote supervision from the Program Manager.

This role requires comfort presenting to groups and working one-on-one with people of varying backgrounds and technology comfort levels, the ability to instruct others in the use of digital health tools rather than performing tasks for them, and consistent collection of participant and session data.

• Deliver 30 to 60 minute employee education sessions on telehealth access, digital health tools, and preventive care at participating employer and community sites.
• Staff information and resource tables during breaks, shift changes, and new-hire onboarding.
• Provide employees with insurance-specific telehealth navigation, including portal access, covered services, and appropriate use.
• Support employees without a primary care provider in understanding their options for establishing care.
• Provide one-on-one assistance with patient portals, video visit platforms, remote patient monitoring devices, and health-related applications.
• Communicate guidance on the appropriate use of telehealth, urgent care, emergency services, and crisis resources.
• Coordinate workplace wellness activities at employer sites with partner organizations and licensed providers, including scheduling, employee education, and on-site support, without performing clinical screenings.
• Develop and maintain employee-facing navigation materials for specific insurance carriers, participant handouts, and take-home resources.
• Assemble and maintain lists of local providers accepting new patients.
• Collect participant surveys and session data required for program evaluation and reporting.
• Contribute field observations to session standard operating procedures, facilitator guides, and employer resources.
• Set up, break down, transport, and maintain program materials, participant kits, and equipment.
• Travel to assigned worksites throughout the service area.
• Participate in program training, team meetings, employer site visits, and community outreach activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

The facilitator's home address serves as the designated worksite for this temporary appointment. Travel from the designated worksite to assigned employer and community sites is reimbursable through the standard RCUH process. Reasonable public transportation costs, such as bus fare, may also be reimbursable.
