The Division of Pediatric Neurology in the Department of Pediatrics has an immediate opening for an Hourly Graduate Student. Under the supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist, the Graduate Student will administer and score standardized psychological test batteries evaluating the cognitive, neuropsychological, behavioral, and emotional status of pediatric and adult research participants diagnosed with neuromuscular, neurological, and neurogenetic disorders. To provide technical support to psychologists and neurologists on multidisciplinary teams with clinical research studies.
The Graduate Student will work closely with research teams to ensure the successful implementation of research protocols, maintain data integrity, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field.

EssentialFunctions
Under the supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist, the Graduate Student’s key responsibilities include:
- Assessment and Data Collection
- Administer and score standardized neuropsychological and psychological assessments to research participants, ensuring adherence to research protocols
- Score tests administered, including objective tests administered by psychologist, and report findings to psychologist for interpretation
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of assessment results, observations, and participant demographics
- Monitor and document participant compliance and engagement during research assessments
- Research Coordination
- Collaborate with principal investigators, clinicians, and research team to develop and refine research protocols
- Assist in participant recruitment and scheduling, ensuring that all participants meet inclusion/exclusion criteria
- Coordinate the logistics of data collection sessions, including the preparation of assessment materials and equipment
- Ensure that research participants scheduled for testing are seen in a timely manner
- Keep psychologist and study team informed of participant testing status
- Participant Interaction
- Build rapport and establish a comfortable and trusting environment for research participants
- Explain research procedures clearly, addressing any particular questions or concerns
- Ensure informed consent processes are followed, and maintain participant confidentiality
- Data Management
- Organize and manage research data, including data entry, quality control, and secure storage
- Collaborate with data analysts to ensure accurate data coding and analysis
