We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Diet Technician to join our dynamic team at Van Duyn Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing! As a Diet Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the nutritional care and well‑being of our residents.
Job SummaryVan Duyn Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing is a 513-bed Skilled Nursing Facility in Syracuse, New York, committed to providing quality care and diversified services with a focus on each resident as a whole person. As a Diet Technician, you will be responsible for the assessment and planning of nutritional care for our residents in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
You will also ensure that quality food service and nutritional care is provided to all residents.
- Assess and plan nutritional care for residents in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations
- Ensure quality food service and nutritional care is provided to all residents
- Collaborate with other disciplines to meet the needs of residents
- Manage conflict, advise, and coach staff and residents
- Demonstrate excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills
- Manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail
- Utilize laser-sharp critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Maintain accountability, integrity, and courage in all aspects of job performance
- Utilize computer skills to maintain accurate records and reports
- Knowledge of safe food preparation and handling techniques
- Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy for residents in a long-term care setting
- Associate's degree in Dietetics, food service, or related field (required)
- Experience in long-term care or clinical field preferred
- Selflessness and commitment to providing exceptional service
- Ability to collaborate with other disciplines
