This job under general supervision leads all operational functions related to staff development/training. Assists in implementation of policies and procedures required for success as well as participate in initiatives to improve processes serving internal and external customers. Performs therapeutic procedures such as wound care, crutch and gait training and instructs patients on exercise. Schedules appointments for diagnostic examinations and physical therapy based on physician's orders.

Education

Required
- Master's Degree in Allied Health or Education

Work Experience

Required - 3 years related experience in healthcare office in clinical or other related medical areas.

Preferred - 5 years related experience evaluating and assessing patient injury.

Certifications
  • Required
    - Certified Orthopedic Technologist (OTC)
  • BLS Certification
  • Board of Certified Athletic Trainers Certification (BOCATC)
  • Preferred
    - License in the state of practice
  • Successful completion of a SMA residency or equivalent program

  • Excellent written, verbal and follow up skills required.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work well with a team.
  • Ability to interact with potential patients, clinic staff, physicians, and departments in a professional manner. Collaborative working and team building skills.
  • Ability to multi-task with high degree of attention to detail and bring tasks to completion.
  • Must be able to comfortably communicate with patients.
Job Duties
  • Oversees daily department activities, serves as point person for department in Supervisor's absence and trains new employees.
  • Works closely with department manager and other team members to allocate resources daily among clinics.
  • Leads special projects and audits projects independently with the end goal of ensuring that the internal control environment is not compromised, and the awareness of the process control culture is increasingly heightened.
  • Interacts with vendors, partners, and internal team members when new initiatives are planned for testing or implementation regarding unit functions.
  • Resolves customer concerns and participates in initiatives to improve customer service.
  • Assists the physician in the clinic and operative setting (works independently and when required under the direct supervision of a physician)
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
