Position Summary: Responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating, training, and providing professional consultation and technical expertise associated with various standards and regulations associated with the Environment of Care (EOC) programs. Works with internal and external stakeholders to support Orlando Health in providing a safe environment and complying with all applicable environment of care compliance standards and associated regulations

Qualifications

Education/Training Associate’s degree required. Trade or vocational school graduate and two (2) years of directly related work experience in a healthcare environment may substitute for the Associate’s degree (in addition to the requirements listed in the Experience section).

Licensure/Certification None.

Experience: Three (3) years of work experience in safety, regulatory, or quality in a healthcare environment

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures, and training programs associated with the environment of care programs to include ongoing continuous improvement of compliance programs and training methods.
  • Assists leadership with identifying trends and recommending options to reduce frequency and severity of issues related to environment of care program risks. Researches and maintains knowledge base current with environment of care accreditation standards and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations applicable to Orlando Health. Conducts routine audits of Orlando Health facilities subject to environment of care standards for validation and documentation of compliant operation;

    initiates action(s) necessary to correct any identified deviation(s) or violation(s). Prepares and submits written technical reports and documents based on audit and inspection findings.
  • Reviews corporate environment of care programs for adequacy, compliance, and effectiveness; assists corporate safety leadership in developing and/or improving programs.
  • Participates, as assigned, in the Pre-Construction Risk Assessment program meetings, document review and assignments. Assists in developing and conducting focused risk assessments, which may include research, site visits, review of hazard surveillance activities and documents, report writing and communication to affected parties.
  • Provides research and assistance to organization departments with concerns or issues related to the EOC programs or initiatives.
  • Develops, maintains and support presentation of training programs for the various Environment of Care programs.
