Main Purpose of JobThis position is responsible for the development, coordination, evaluation and oversight of the Deer's Head Hospital Center (DHHC's) Infection Prevention and Control Program. This position also oversees the Supervisor of Supports Services and Patient/Resident Scheduling and Transports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a health-related field from an accredited college or university. - Experience:
Four years of experience as a Registered Nurse to include two years in the Medical option and one year in a supervisory, administrative or consultative capacity. - Notes:
- 1. Candidates may substitute the possession a Master's degree in Nursing or a health-related field from an accredited college or university and two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the Medical option for the required education and experience.
- 2. Candidates may substitute six years of experience as a Registered Nurse to include three years in a supervisory, administrative or teaching capacity in the Medical option for the required education and experience requirements.
- 3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classifications or Nursing and Hospital Administration specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
- Nursing leadership and quality improvement experience (critical for the oversight of The Infection Prevention and Control Program)
- Experience and/or knowledge of Infection Prevention Surveillance activities based on regulatory standards (CMS, The Joint Commission, OHCQ, COMAR)
- Proficient utilization of technology to drive efficient infection prevention surveillance, streamline reporting, and improve departmental communications awhile upholding rigorous standards for data accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance
- Certifications in Infection Control (CIC) and/or certification in Infection Prevention and Control for Long-Term Care (LTC-CIP)
- 1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215 or possess a current multi-state license in party states that candidates have declared as primary states of residence.
- 2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
