** Job Description
** The Program Coordinator for Community Health Education and Advocacy (CHEA) supports the operation, planning, coordination, communication and evaluation of community health education, advocacy, and health-related social needs initiatives within the Patrick M. Magoon Institute for Healthy Communities. Under the guidance of the CHEA Director, the Coordinator partners with pediatric healthcare providers, trainees and allied health professionals across disciplines and career levels to develop, implement and sustain innovative curricula and advocacy efforts that advance health equity and strengthen alignment between clinical care and community health.

The Coordinator contributes to CHEA and hospital-wide initiatives focused on upstream prevention, the root causes of health disparities, and the social and structural factors that influence health. The position supports the sustainability and expansion of these efforts by coordinating curricular and strategic planning, monitoring progress toward program and funding requirements and helping identify and steward philanthropic, foundation and government funding for community health education and advocacy initiatives.

The Patrick M. Magoon Institute for Healthy Communities serves as Lurie Children's hub for community-focused initiatives. The Magoon Institute brings together clinical care, advocacy, research, education and community engagement to advance community health and health equity for infants, children, adolescents and families across Chicago. The Institute also leads Lurie Children's Community Health Needs Assessment and Community Health Improvement Strategy, which guide the hospital's community health priorities and investments.

* Essential Job Functions:

** 1. Collaborate with internal and external partners, including community leaders, healthcare professionals, researchers and public health practitioners to identify health priorities and develop community health and engagement strategies.
2. Coordinate the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of community health and engagement initiatives, programs and events within the Magoon Institute under the guidance of senior staff and manager, keeping in mind community priorities, community health strategies and organizational mission.
3. Act as contact for Lurie Children's with community partners, residents and marginalized populations across Chicago neighborhoods, particularly those disproportionately affected by health inequities.
4.. Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including communications, scheduling and reporting of meeting and events, to develop and advance community health education and advocacy initiatives.
5. Support coordination of community and city-wide convenings, trainings and workshops as well as assisting with action planning, ensuring diverse representations from various backgrounds and lived experience.
6. Coordinate program logistics, track project expenditures, facilitate meetings and events and maintain project materials and documentation to ensure timely and budget-conscious deliverables. Prepare regular status reports on project progress, outcomes…
