Join a Growing Radiation Oncology Program at Intermountain Health! Intermountain Health is expanding its state-of-the-art Radiation Oncology services and is seeking an A
-certified or board-eligible Medical Physicist to become an integral part of our innovative and collaborative team.

This is an exciting opportunity to practice at the forefront of cancer care while helping shape the future of a growing oncology program. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will partner closely with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, therapists, and fellow physicists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered treatment across multiple sites.

In this role, you will share responsibility with a team of Medical Physicists supporting three advanced treatment facilities;
Logan Regional Hospital, McKay-Dee Hospital and Layton Hospital.

This position offers variety, professional collaboration, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across a diverse patient population. Occasional travel between facilities is required to provide coverage and support, fostering strong connections with colleagues throughout the region.

• Innovative Environment: Be part of a program that embraces advanced techniques including frameless SRS with Hyper Arc, tattoo-free SGRT setups, extensive use of SBRT & hypofractionation, and a very active HDR program for gynecological, prostate, and skin treatments. We recently started a radioligand therapy program at our Logan location housed within Radiation Oncology.

• Treatment Platforms: Varian True Beam systems at Logan, and Ogden locations.
• Imaging & Simulation: VisionRT SGRT (2 locations), GE CT simulators (2 locations)
• Brachytherapy: Varian Bravos (All locations)
• Accreditation: ASTRO-APEX accredited
• Software: Aria R&V and Eclipse v16.1 TPS with GPU acceleration. Upgrading to V18.2 by end of 2026.
• QA Tools: Sun Nuclear SRS Map Check, IC Profiler, and 1D scanning tank. Varian Portal Dosimetry, Radformation suite (Clear Check, Clear Calc, Rad Monte Carlo , EZFluence, Auto Contour, Rad Machine)

• Oversees the development and implementation of the procedure for calibration of radiation therapy equipment in accordance with the current standards of the American Association of Physicist in Medicine (AAPM) and state and federally governed agencies and formulates and oversees all aspects of brachytherapy within the department and those procedures performed in other departments in collaboration with the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) to maintain safety standards.
• Assumes responsibility for providing performing calibrations and quality control in compliance with state regulations and in accordance with the standards of AAPM on all therapeutic radiation machines as required by the Division of Radiation Control and commissions new or upgraded equipment to achieve compatibility with existing machines.
• Coordinates with the Chief Therapist the technical functions in the department in order to ensure that physician's instructions for simulation and treatment of patients are carried out as prescribed and intended, and directs, coordinates and performs all aspects of treatment planning, preparation of beam shaping devices, etc.
