* ** In this role, you will:
*** Culture cells of various types using appropriate culture media and techniques
* Harvest cell cultures using appropriate techniques such as mitotic arrestants, cell releasing agents, cell fixatives, etc.
* Prepare microscopic slides using routine and banding techniques.
* Analyze chromosome preparations microscopically.  Prepare several karyotypes per case.
* Perform fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) on cytogenetic preparations and paraffin embedded tissues.
* Analyze FISH preparations microscopically, capture images and prepare reports.  
** All you need is:
*** Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology;
** or
* * Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science with 1 year of Medical Technology training
* 3 years of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing
* Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent
* Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
* Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.  
** Bonus points if you’ve got:
*** 5+ years of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing within area of specialty.
* Experience writing complex ISCN (International System for Human Cytogenomic Nomenclature)
