This is a 6-month contract position for a Healthcare EDI Systems Analyst, based remotely in the United States. You will support electronic data interchange (EDI) operations, transactions, and integrations within the healthcare industry, working with standards, platforms, and systems that connect providers, payers, clearinghouses, and healthcare technology organizations.
Responsibilities- Support and maintain HIPAA X12 healthcare transactions and EDI standards compliance
- Process and troubleshoot healthcare claims, eligibility, remittance, and enrollment transactions
- Configure and manage healthcare EDI platforms and integration tools
- Perform data mapping, validation, and integration between healthcare systems
- Support revenue cycle management operations and healthcare claims processing workflows
- Collaborate with providers, payers, clearinghouses, and internal stakeholders on EDI issues and implementations
- Develop SQL queries and scripts for healthcare data analysis and system support
- Troubleshoot EDI transmission errors, transaction failures, and system performance issues
- Document EDI processes, configurations, and resolutions for knowledge management
- Support API integration, data validation, and system connectivity across healthcare platforms
- Required
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of healthcare EDI experience
- Healthcare insurance industry experience
- Experience supporting HIPAA X12 transactions
- Experience with healthcare claims, eligibility, remittance, and enrollment processing
- Experience with one or more EDI platforms: IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, Edifecs, Optum Intelligent EDI, Open Text, Cleo Integration Cloud, Mule Soft, Boomi, Cognizant Tri Zetto, HealthEC, or Oracle Integration Cloud
- Experience with healthcare transaction types: 834 Enrollment, 835 Remittance Advice, 837 Claims, 270/271 Eligibility, 276/277 Claim Status, 278 Prior Authorization, 999 Acknowledgments, and TA1 Interchange Acknowledgments
- SQL development and analysis skills
- Healthcare data mapping and EDI troubleshooting
- Windows and Linux administration
- Scripting experience with Power Shell, Python, or Shell
- Strong analytical thinking and excellent communication skills
- Preferred
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS)
- Healthcare Informatics certification
- Experience supporting revenue cycle management operations
- Knowledge of ANSI X12 Healthcare Transactions, HIPAA EDI Standards, NCPDP Standards, HL7, FHIR APIs, XML, and JSON
- API integration support experience
- Healthcare clearinghouse experience
- FHIR and HL7 integration experience
- Cloud integration platform experience:
Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud - Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid programs
- Knowledge of value-based care and population health data exchanges
- Healthcare operations understanding
- Regulatory compliance knowledge
- Stakeholder management and vendor/payer collaboration experience
- Process improvement experience
