*** Collects patient samples using best practices for phlebotomy.  Documents receipt of patient samples in Lab Information System (LIS) and prepares them for analysis. As a Lead LST, this individual has additional accountability for assigned administrative tasks or projects and serving as a role model for the LST group in the department.  
* FT - Days 3 12-hour shifts per week:  Week 1:
Sunday, Monday Tuesday. Week 2:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday
* Collects patient specimens in accordance with laboratory's policy, procedures and regulatory standards.
* Correlates patient samples to provider laboratory test orders in the LIS/EMR.
* Performs and reports Point of Care laboratory testing as required.
* Uses education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that may interfere with accurate sample collection.
* Trains new employees and precepts phlebotomy students.
* Assists with competency evaluations.
* Manages supply ordering and inventory levels.
* Manages and directs staff scheduling, as assigned.
* Serves as a resource for staff to resolve problems or issues that may impact patient care.
* Participates in performance improvement activities, as assigned.
* Phlebotomy Certification, ASCP or HNA (required) within 9 months of hire#
