Salary Range: $15.00 Hourly

Job Shift: 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

• Deliver quality resident care within the scope of practice of the Certified Nursing Assistance/Attendant/Med Tech.
• Provide direct care to the residents following direction from the facility Director, Nurse Responder, ALF Policy and Procedure.
• Assist residents with their ADLs and document as needed; including but not limited to dressing, transferring, toileting, and oral care where appropriate in Medical Records software.
• Communicate any changes in resident’s condition at shift change; report to nurse.
• Assist residents with meal preparation, serving from the steam table, universal precautions.
• Set tables, wash dishes, run dishwasher, wash tables and keep kitchen area clean.
• Order food supplies as needed, maintain a record refrigerator/freezer temperatures on the log sheet.
• Sweep, vacuum and mop floors as needed when housekeeper is not available
• Round on residents at least every two hours or as directed by your facility nurse, ensuring all residents are safe (when appropriate), for Hagen ensure the residents are clean, dry & safe.
• Be familiar with individual resident’s dietary needs/restrictions, ensuring they get the appropriate diet; (i.e. thickened liquids, chopped meats, etc).
• Assist residents with group activities; provide one on one activity as appropriate.
• Maintain a calm demeanor at all times when dealing with the ALF resident
• Sort laundry, wash and dry resident clothing, bedding and the facility laundry as needed. Every shift is responsible for washing, folding, and distributing laundry where applicable (Except Beyer House).
• Ensure residents have appropriate snacks available between meals.
• Be familiar with individual transferring/ambulating needs; know how to assist with the use of the gait belt, walker, rolling walker, and wheelchair as appropriate for facility
• Be familiar with resident charge sheets and charge according to the items used for residents needs (Hagen only).
• Be familiar with the use of the bed/chair alarm, document accordingly (Hagen only).
• Assist volunteers as appropriate.
• Employees are subject to overtime hours and will be required to stay longer than their scheduled shift if there is a call-out or no show.
• If not in place, applying for PCA- must successfully complete Penney PCA Program within the first three months – if class is available.
• If not in place, complete Medication Technician training according to the state regulations with passing grade.
• If applicable, stay current with annual 2-hour Medication Technician update training.
• Stay current with annual CNA licensure renewal – if applicable.
• Be familiar with the routine of each shift as you may be required to work shifts other than the one you were hired for from time to time.
• Stay current with vaccination and PPD testing requirements.
• Will be required to work in other ALF facilities from time to time.
• Demonstrate excellent professional skills; good communication/organizational skills a must.
• Work well with geriatric population.
• Relate positively and favorable to residents, families, and other staff members.
• Additional duties as assigned by DON, , CNO/COO, CEO/President.

• High school Diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of approved CNA program and be in good standing with required current state license or complete Penney PCA Training Program.
• Current CPR and AED certification preferable with American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers program (initial training must be in person, renewal can be done online.)
• Medication Technician Certification preferred, if hired without certification, must get within first 3 months of employment
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn Medical Records software.
• Knowledge of basic math.

• Geriatric experience preferred

Hourly, resignation requires a two-week notice

• Push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a minimum height of 3 ft. and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry weight a minimum distance of 50 ft.
• Assist in the evacuation of residents, personnel and support agencies, if necessary
• Meet general health requirements set forth by the policies of PRC, which may include a medical and physical examination
• Relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and, at times hostile people within the community.
