PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Bon Secours St Marys Hospital Program Overview

The St. Mary's Hospital PGY1 Pharmacy Residency in Richmond, Virginia is a12-month postgraduate training program designed to foster the clinical and professional development of pharmacy residents. Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospitalis a 391-bed community hospital and a member of the Bon Secours Mercy Health(BSMH) health care system. BSMH is one of the largest Catholic health care systems in the United States, providing compassionate care to communities across multiple states.

Under the instruction of experienced and dedicated preceptors, residents will become skilled and compassionate practitioners with proficiency in patient care,critical thinking, practice management, quality improvement, leadership, and education. Residents collaborate with our preceptors to customize their training, selecting from a wide variety of required and elective rotations tosuit their individual interests and career goals. Additionally, residents havethe opportunity to participate in the Teaching and Learning Certificate program offered in collaboration with the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Schoolof Pharmacy.

Upon successful completion of the program, residents will be well-positioned toprovide patient care, seek board certification in pharmacotherapy, and pursue advanced training and education opportunities including postgraduate year two(PGY2) pharmacy residencies.
