Description:
The position involves performing sleep studies in accordance with established policy and procedure guidelines.
The studies will be conducted in a specialized sleep evaluation center, bedside, and in critical care areas.
Qualified applicants must hold a certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists,or a Registered Sleep Technologist through the American Board of Sleep Medicine.
Respiratory therapist licensure as mandated by the state is also acceptable.
Candidates should have experience working with medically complex children.
Shifts will require weekend and holiday availability.
This role does not require independent intubation skills but familiarity with critical care settings is important.
The equipment utilized includes Respironics and Res Med technologies.
The work will include a department-specific orientation.
Comfort in conducting sleep studies is essential.
Candidates must be prepared to adhere to protocols for various types of pediatric patients.
