Heart Havens is seeking caring and compassionate Full-Time and Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to work at our Macleigh & Post Oak homes in Virginia Beach, Virginia
.

As a DSP, you'll help the people we support become active and valued members of their communities. You'll encourage individuals to connect with community resources and events, try new activities, develop independence, and pursue their interests and goals.

As a DSP, you will empower adults with developmental disabilities to live full, vibrant, and meaningful lives
. Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting individuals with daily living activities
• Assisting with meal preparation and household activities
• Supporting community outings and activities
• Encouraging independence and personal choice
  
  Helping individuals pursue their interests, goals, and dreams
• Providing compassionate and respectful support
• Maintaining accurate documentation
• Working collaboratively with other members of the support team

Eligible new hires may receive a $500 bonus in accordance with Heart Havens' bonus terms and eligibility requirements.

Additional Performance Bonus: $250

Employees who demonstrate exceptional performance and exceed expectations may have the opportunity to earn an additional $250 bonus
, based on applicable eligibility and performance criteria.

Minimum Education and Experience
:
High school diploma or GED preferred. 6 months’ previous direct support experience required. 1-year previous direct support experience in a DD residential group home setting preferred, or a combination of experience and certifications with a minimum of two years in DD residential with a consistent job history.

• -Ability to write objective and accurate daily notes that capture support offered and given to residents
