Laboratory TechnicianJob Description
The Laboratory Technician I, using general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing America’s Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures, supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Retrieves samples from Sample Control for analysis.
Performs sample preparation which may include, but is not limited to, a combination of the following methods:
- Spike and trace samples
- Prepare reagents
- Bottle samples
- Prepare concentrations
- Separation
- Sonication
- Microbiology work
- Resolves discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
- Prepares general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
- Washes laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.
- Stocks laboratory supplies.
- Cleans work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
- Builds bottle kits to provide to clients and assists other laboratory areas as needed.
Education/Experience (BMQ):
- Education:
2 to 4 year degree in science preferred; HS diploma or GED required - Experience:
Chemistry coursework, basic laboratory experience
- General knowledge of chemistry and/or general science
- Basic mathematical skills
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Quick learner
- Work independently
- Work within time constraints
Requirements:
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English
Position is full-time Monday – Friday day shift.
