ADEC provides a range of services to achieve one mission: to empower people with disabilities to live fulfilled lives in their communities. Direct Support Professionals (DSP) s work directly with adults, who have a range of disabilities, in their home providing assistance with daily living, achieving goals and participating in their community. This is a great learning experience for anyone – especially if you are considering a career in special education, psychology or nursing.
PLUS – positions are available within miles of the campus and for hours that work great with college classes, including evenings, overnights, and weekends. Both full and part time positions are available with set or flexible schedules.
Starting rate of $16 to $17/hr enjoy work life balance with one day of the weekend off. Receive a $1.00 increase in first year: $0.25 at 90 days, $0.25 at 6 months and $0.50 at 1 year. Power Weekend positions start at $18.00/hr and work Thurs – Sun.
The Position:ADEC Inc is looking for Direct Support Professionals (caregivers/DSP) to increase the independence and opportunities of persons with disabilities living in group homes or supported living sites by providing person-centered care while maintaining a clean and comfortable home-like environment.
Job Responsibilities:- Assist with personal care – bathroom needs, cleaning, meals, activities, and more
- Provide transportation – community-based activities, appointments, and outings in agency van and/or personal vehicle
- Administer medication and complete charting
- Support clients with behavioral challenges
- Prepare meals per dietary needs
- Assist with household chores – cleaning, laundry
- Empower to achieve goals and create opportunities

QualificationsNo experience in this field or working with this population is required. ADEC has extensive paid training and lots of job coaching/shadowing for new staff.
- The ability to lift 60 pounds
- Valid driver’s license
- Proof of car insurance
- Pass criminal background check and have negative drug test
