, the Respiratory Therapy Director oversees departmental operations, clinical standards, and staff development to ensure excellence in respiratory care delivery.
- Oversee the daily operations of the respiratory therapy department to ensure high-quality, resident-centered care.
- Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and strategic plans to support clinical excellence and operational efficiency.
- Lead staff training, education, and professional development initiatives within the respiratory therapy department.
- Monitor and evaluate departmental performance data to identify opportunities for quality improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations, and facility policies.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive respiratory care plans.
- Support clinical decision-making for complex respiratory cases, including ventilator and tracheostomy management.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the department.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care required.
- Current state licensure required.
- Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management in a skilled nursing facility, LTACH, or hospital setting required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
