The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer-fueled organization whose mission is to cure Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and improve the quality of life for the children and adults affected by these diseases. Our work is dramatically accelerating the research process through our varied research initiatives; we also provide extensive educational and support resources for patients and their families, medical professionals, and the public.

Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, In-Person Education is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating in-person patient, caregiver, and healthcare professional education programming within the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s Education, Support and Advocacy (ESA) Department. This position collaborates with Foundation staff, volunteers, and key stakeholders to deliver mission related educational programing aligned with the Foundation’s strategic plan. This position reports directly to the Associate Vice President, In-Person Education and Career Development Programs.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
:

  • In partnership with ESA, Research, key medical volunteers, and chapter staff, develop and implement an annual in-person education plan aligned with the Foundation’s strategic plan, including patient, caregiver, and healthcare professional programming and continuing education activities.
  • Develop and sustain a minimum of three (3) regional education committees, comprised of healthcare professionals and chapter leadership.
  • Manage a minimum of thirty (30) patient, caregiver, and healthcare professional education programs annually, overseeing program agendas, speaker recruitment and coordination, logistics, registration, marketing, and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to expand diversity and inclusion initiatives across in-person education programs.
  • Attend assigned education programs, including up to twenty (20) weekend programs annually, and ensure a positive, high-quality experience for attendees, volunteers, exhibitors, and speakers.
  • Partner with ESA colleagues to establish meaningful outcome measures that reflect the priorities of the Foundation’s current strategic plan.
  • Compile and analyze program evaluation data, and report attendance, survey, and outcome data following each program.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and execute promotional strategies for education programs.
  • Partner with Business Development, Advancement, and other Foundation staff to help meet program revenue goals, including supporting grant applications, funding proposals, and pharmaceutical industry relationships.
  • Ensure the promotion of ESA support programs, Foundation initiatives, and resources at all education events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, Health Communications, Health Advocacy, Education or health-related discipline preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in program development, preferably with a health-related organization, not-for-profit experience is a plus.
