Provides oversight of the operations of the Central Monitoring Unit to include resolution of concerns related to human resources, telemetry capacity, scheduling issues, and equipment functionality. Works closely and serves as a communication liaison with all departments that provide telemetry monitoring. Responsible for the departmental processes that support accurate record keeping, observation of telemetry monitors, and prompt identification and escalation of cardiac rhythm changes to appropriate nursing personnel.
May perform the duties of a Monitor Technician as needed. In the absence of the manager, may assume 24-hour responsibility for the department.
REQUIRED
LPN/PARAMEDIC/EMT
Completion of LPN, Paramedic or EMT program and appropriate licenseTwo (2) years of experienceMust hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support certificationDemonstrated competency in Medical TerminologyDemonstrated competency in EKG/arrhythmia interpretationCertified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) or Certified Cardiac Technician (CCT) or Certified National Telemetry Technician (NTA) within 6 months of employmentMONITOR TECHNICIAN
Five (5) years of experience as a monitor technicianMust hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification Demonstrated competency in Medical TerminologyDemonstrated competency in EKG/arrhythmia interpretationCertified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) or Certified Cardiac Technician (CCT)PREFERRED
Associates Degree in healthcare related field of study1 year supervisory experienceGraduate from an accredited CVT programNational certification in specialty area
