Description SUMMARY Greets and assists patients coming to the medical center by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- 1. Greets and welcomes patients and visitors that come to the center.
- 2. Escorts patients to all locations within the center including the doctors’offices, restrooms, etc.
- 3. Assists patients with special needs (wheelchair, walkers, etc.).
- 4. Notifies administration when a patient or visitor is not satisfied withtheir service or care.
- 5. Interacts with patients while they wait for their appointments or other events.
- 6. Maintains awareness of all patients and their needs while they are waiting.
- 7. Communicates with the front desk in regards to patient status.
- 8. Answers all inquiries in a professional and courteous manner, or directs the patient to the appropriate LMC staff member for assistance.
- 9. Offers patients and visitors an affectionate and warm good-bye.
- 10. Provides excellent service to our patients and visitors that meets, and whenever possible, exceeds their expectations.
- 11. May be assigned to cover contracted external diagnostic facilities with little or no supervision.
- 12. May travel on LMC buses to assist drivers in taking home high risk orspecial needs patients.
- 13. May have to assist patients inside the bathroom occasionally; or contact the appropriate medical professional to offer assistance.
- 14. Shows genuine concern to the patient’s needs and problems; maintains open channels of communication for feedback, compliments, and complaints.
- 15. Provides a level of comfort to the patient in showing them that they are dealing with a well-trained professional.
- 16. Deals with irate patients in a manner that shows empathy and concern.
- 17. Wears a complete uniform and keeps a clean and neat appearance during working hours.
- 18. Participates in weekly line-ups.
- 19. Participates in training and in-service education as required.
- 20. Participates in department and center meetings as requested.
- 21. Follows established lines of communication, and demonstrates courtesy and politeness to patients, visitors and other employees.
- 22. Complies with LMC’s infection control policies and procedures including body substance isolation and the Exposure Control Plan, which reflects OHSA Bloodborne Pathogen standard to ensure a safe working environment for selfand others.
- 23. Complies with Leon Medical Centers’ policies and procedures and maintains confidentiality in accordance with state and federal laws.
- 24. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities Greets and assists patients and visitors upon arrival at the medical center, ensuring they are escorted to the correct locations. Maintains a professional environment by addressing patient needs, handling complaints with empathy, and coordinating with the front desk.
