BJC Health Care seeks a Senior MRI Technologist to perform and oversee advanced MRI exams in our Healthcare & Medical Services department. This role ensures safe, high-quality imaging, accurate patient positioning, and adherence to protocols while supporting radiologists and care teams. The Senior MRI Technologist mentors staff, troubleshoots equipment, and champions workflow and safety improvements. At BJC, you'll work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment that values compassionate care, innovation, and continuous improvement in clinical quality and outcomes.
- Perform complex MRI examinations following established protocols and safety standards
- Ensure optimal image quality through proper patient positioning and technical parameter adjustment
- Screen patients for MRI safety and contrast contraindications, educating them on procedures
- Collaborate with radiologists and providers to support accurate diagnoses and timely care
- Mentor and precept MRI technologists and students, sharing best practices
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and coordinate maintenance for MRI equipment
- Maintain accurate documentation in EMR and imaging systems
- Support quality improvement, accreditation, and safety initiatives within MRI services
- Ensure compliance with organizational, regulatory, and ACR/JCAHO standards
- Contribute to a culture of compassionate, patient-centered care and teamwork
