Job Shift 15 - 20 hours
DescriptionHours:
One to two evenings per week (Mon-Fri) from 3-11pm + rotating weekends (average of 16 hours per week). Each Hospitality Team Member works a minimum of one night per week from 3pm – 11pm and then works approximately every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday). The weekend shifts are rotating: one weekend 7am – 3pm and the other weekend 3pm – 11pm;
holidays as assigned. More hours are available throughout the summer & during holidays.
Position Summary:
Serve as a liaison between Asbury Inn & Suites and our guests in the areas of reservations, hospitality, and shuttle service. Welcome guests and administer front desk functions.
Essential Functions:
- Represent Asbury Seminary in welcoming guests, alumni, prospective students and Seminary officials by creating an atmosphere of hospitality.
- Answer the phone in a professional manner and make and/or edit reservations in the computer system. Direct calls as necessary and take messages for guests.
- Perform check-in/check-out procedures: enter data, collect payment, process key cards, record guests who are staying in each room, etc.
- Respond to and problem-solve guest concerns that arise during the shift.
- Answer guest questions regarding ATS and the community; provide directions to/from the Seminary and places in the area.
- Handle emergency situations by contacting the appropriate personnel.
- Process airport shuttles requests between Asbury Inn & Suites and local airports.
- Provide security for Asbury Inn & Suites lobbies and hallways.
- Serve as the Seminary Switchboard when needed.
- Account for the cash drawer.
Other Responsibilities:
- Attend mandatory monthly staff meetings.
- Work during the summer, holidays, and other Seminary breaks as assigned
- Provide clerical support and complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Guest & Auxiliary Services and the Front Desk Manager.
- Become an Asbury Seminary approved driver and operate airport shuttle transportation if necessary.
- Adhere to Asbury Inn & Suites policies and dress code.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills as needed to interact with the public, to include the ability to read, write, speak and understand English well.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail.
- Ability to demonstrate a presence of hospitality and professionalism as needed to represent ATS to the general public.
- Ability to be self-motivated and go above and beyond minimum expectations in order to ensure guests experience quality customer service.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and cash drawer procedures.
- Ability to solve problems and make appropriate decisions/recommendations.
- Ability to maintain strict confidences and comply with policies, to include the ability to communicate policies with clear boundaries when dealing with the public.
- Ability to learn and retain information in order to meet guests needs and operate the reservation software.
- Skill in operating a computer and the ability to learn a new computer software program (Skytouch) with training.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
