Position SummaryPalm House is seeking a Seasonal Front Desk Agent to deliver a warm welcome and a seamless arrival, stay, and departure experience. As one of the first and last points of contact for our guests, you will combine professionalism, genuine care, and attention to detail to make every interaction feel personal.
The ideal candidate is an engaging communicator who anticipates guest needs, handles requests with confidence, and takes pride in delivering service that reflects Palm House’s luxury hospitality standards.
This position is seasonal, with employment anticipated from October through May. Employment is expected to conclude at the end of the seasonal period.
Key Responsibilities Personalized Guest Service- Welcome guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their stay.
- Anticipate guest needs, recognize returning guests and VIPs, and thoughtfully coordinate preferences and special requests.
- Respond promptly to inquiries and concerns, taking ownership of follow-through and involving a manager when appropriate.
- Maintain a polished, professional presence and protect guest privacy at all times.
- Complete check-in and check-out procedures efficiently and accurately.
- Verify reservations, room assignments, guest information, and payment methods.
- Process room changes, stay extensions, upgrades, and authorized billing adjustments.
- Review guest folios, address billing questions, and ensure accurate settlement at departure.
- Follow hotel procedures for payment processing, cash handling, key issuance, and guest security.
- Maintain current knowledge of hotel accommodations, amenities, dining experiences, services, and events.
- Offer thoughtful recommendations for local attractions and experiences based on guest interests.
- Coordinate luggage assistance, transportation, dining reservations, and other requests with the appropriate teams.
- Work closely with Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, Security, and other departments to coordinate guest needs and room readiness.
- Maintain accurate guest records, reservation updates, and shift handover notes.
- Communicate outstanding requests and operational concerns to ensure continuity between shifts.
- Complete assigned reports, shift audits, and administrative tasks.
- Participate in training and departmental meetings, applying Palm House service standards and Forbes-aligned service practices.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least one year of experience in a guest-facing hospitality role required.
- Luxury hotel, resort, or upscale hospitality experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with a hotel property management system preferred; familiarity with Opera is an advantage.
- A degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A warm, professional approach and a passion for personalized guest service.
- Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while remaining composed and attentive.
- Sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn hotel systems.
- A collaborative attitude and reliable follow-through.
