Saint Joseph's College of Maine seeks a dynamic individual for the position of OPERATIONS and BEVERAGE COORDINATOR
!

The Operations and Beverage Coordinator supports the Events & Conferences Department by providing operational assistance for all internal and external events; serving as Bar Program Coordinator for all Stone Barn events; effectively coordinates Event Bar employees; and serving as a customer service liaison.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serves as Bar Program Coordinator for all Stone Barn events by:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive beverage program, including alcohol and non-alcohol beverages, in line with the College’s concept and target market
  • Designing and updating beverage menus, considering seasonal trends, customer preferences, and profitability
  • Overseeing bar operations, ensuring efficient service and adherence to quality and safety standards
  • Monitoring customer feedback and reviews, taking proactive measures to address any issues or suggestions
  • Serving as part of the sales team member who meets with wedding and event clients for their special event bar needs
  • Ensuring the highest level of quality, service and hospitality for all events
  • Providing knowledge and guidance on all trends and changings in the industry
  • Managing relationships with vendors, distributors and clients to the highest standard
  • Creating systems, menus and protocols to ensure the highest level of operations and efficiency
  • Elevating bar program each year to meet and exceed projections
  • Serving as key representative to internal and external contacts and coordinating responses to requests for information and communication protocols in a timely manner (including creating appropriate work-orders, service request, invoicing and billing
  • Assisting with coordinating and scheduling events, activities & programs
  • Receiving and addressing all incoming events inquiries (phone, email, written, etc.) on a regular, weekly set schedule
  • Collaborating with internal/external partners to coordinate event details, changes and updates in a timely fashion
  • Preparing invoices and contracts for on-campus and Agritourism events
  • Assisting with campus events when needed

Effectively coordinates Event Bar employees by:

  • Training, scheduling, and coordinating event bar staff that varies is size seasonally
  • Coaching and mentoring staff in setting goals, creating action plans, and time management while fostering a team environment
  • Guiding performance, coaching sessions, and disciplinary actions in a professional and timely manner
  • Creating and implementing standardized training documents
  • Ensuring all event bar staff are TIP certified and that all staff remain up to date with accurate training, certificates and other requirements by State and institution
  • Ensuring a high level of customer service is delivered throughout each event
  • Directing event bar staff through set up and break down procedures
  • Working the bar as needed based on staffing
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or combination of High school/GED and 3-5 years administrative experience within a customer-service environment
  • Proven experience as a Beverage Manager or similar role within the food service industry
  • Food Handler and Alcohol Server Certification required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, complete a driver training program and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
SCHEDULE:
  • This is a full-time 35 hour per week position
  • Flexible working schedule is a must
  • Some weekends and nights are required
