Position Summary

The Front Office Host is responsible for creating a welcoming and memorable experience for guests from arrival to departure. This role serves as the first point of contact for hotel guests, managing the registration and check-in/check-out process while providing exceptional customer service. Front Office Hosts communicate hotel services, amenities, and promotions, answer guest inquiries, resolve concerns, and coordinate with other hotel departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Complete guest check-in and check-out procedures accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify guest information, process room assignments, and issue room keys.
  • Handle cash, credit card, and other payment transactions in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Communicate hotel services, amenities, promotions, and local area information to guests.
  • Answer telephone calls, emails, and guest inquiries promptly.
  • Respond to guest requests, concerns, and service recovery situations with professionalism.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate guest records and reservations in the property management system.
  • Assist with room inventory management and upselling opportunities.
  • Follow all hotel safety, security, and confidentiality procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.
  • Support Front Office operations and perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Previous hotel front desk, guest services, customer service, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn hotel operating systems.
  • Ability to accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, and financial reconciliation.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving and guest recovery skills.
  • Must be dependable, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.
