Job Title:

Sales Associate (On-Call)

Wage: $25/hour + tips & incentives

Hours:

4–16 hours per week, with the possibility of more if desired by the employee

Schedule:

Thursday through Sunday (Saturdays are required), with flexibility. Additional weekdays or evening shifts may be scheduled with advance notice based on events, private tastings, or off-site opportunities.

Halleck Vineyard is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate On-Call Sales Associate to join our hospitality team. This individual will help deliver elevated tasting experiences that reflect the intimate and storied nature of our estate and wines. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, guest-facing environment and is excited about sharing a love for wine and storytelling with visitors.

The tasting room is open to guests Thursday through Sunday. This position requires weekend availability and occasional travel or support for outside pourings and special events.

• Effectively communicate the Halleck Vineyard story, wine portfolio, and mission with guests
• Present wines and experiences to both small groups and larger audiences
• Memorize and deliver the provided tasting script with authenticity
• Describe wines, winemaking techniques, and the winery's history in a compelling way
• Engage guests in a warm and educational manner to drive wine sales, wine club sign-ups and 5-star reviews
• Prepare cheese plates and other food pairings for tastings
• Set up and clean up tasting areas before and after appointments
• Wash and polish glassware, maintain general cleanliness and presentation of the space
• Assist with hospitality special events, both on-site and off-site, as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Wine certifications (WSET, CMS, etc.) are a plus
• Public speaking experience is highly valued
• Must be at least 21 years of age

• Ability to present professionally and dress in business casual attire
• Confidence addressing and leading small or large groups
• Comfortable using computers and reservation systems
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible
• Excellent judgment, time management, and decision‑making skills

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Ability to walk, sit, reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity
• Clear vision, hearing, and sense of smell required for hospitality and wine tasting
• Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment and remain calm and focused under pressure

• Business casual dress code required
• Non-smoking workplace; staff must refrain from smoking during the workday and must not carry any aromas associated with smoking
• Heavily scented perfumes, lotions, or hair products are not allowed, as they interfere with the sensory nature of wine tasting
