The Opportunity
Métis Crossing is seeking a customer focused and organized Accommodations Team Lead. Reporting to the Manager of Guest Experiences, the Team Lead will direct the lodge operation in housekeeping, front desk, and assist the food & beverage department when needed. This person will be interacting with the guests daily to provide courteous and efficient service pertaining to any needs they may have.

While the
primary responsibilities will align with those of Operations, the successful applicants will be required to assist with other duties as needed to support the organization’s operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

The Accommodations Team Lead will ensure a high quality of customer service within the Lodge
operations through continuous communication with all departments at Métis Crossing, including the
Culture Centre, facilities and sites, front desk, food & beverage, and housekeeping.

• Enforce and implement housekeeping procedures and provide support to the housekeeping team in
  the absence of the Manager of Guest Experiences.
• Assist with the development and implementation of housekeeping processes, including room cleaning standards, inspection procedures, office procedures, and related documentation.
• Communicate housekeeping-related changes and initiatives to the team and monitor implementation, clearly explaining the rationale for changes and their impact on housekeeping operations.
• Oversee organization, cleanliness, and operational practices within the housekeeping department to ensure established standards are consistently maintained.
• Monitor and maintain housekeeping supply inventories and issue supplies as needed to support daily operations.
• Ensure superior cleanliness, service, and guest experience standards are maintained by all housekeeping team members.
• Resolve customer concerns promptly, professionally, and in a diplomatic manner.
• Address any problems and unusual situations until resolved.
• Collaborate in staffing responsibilities and perform supervisory duties including hiring and training staff, assigning job duties, and developing and overseeing staff work plans.
• Ensure that the housekeeping team is trained in all company standards.
• Conduct performance reviews and coaching of the housekeeping team.
• Ensure effective relations and communication with other departments.
• Handle the Lodge’s Fire Safety and aids with all emergencies.
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, and order in the front desk reception area.
• Provide other services as requested by the Manager of Guest Experiences.
• Other duties as required and assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a boutique, luxury, or resort setting.
• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent combination of education and experience an asset.
• Level C First Aid/CPR would be an asset.
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain WHMIS certification.
• Knowledge of Alberta history and cultural diversity.
• Knowledge of Alberta Métis culture, past and present.
