Position: Beverage Assistant Manager

Job Summary:
Oversees the daily operations of the Beverage Department

Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):

• Oversees the daily operations of the Beverage department.
• Responsible for complying with all food and beverage health, liquor, and safety regulations, as well as all federal, state, and local applicable laws.
• Monitors job performances of all the Beverage department employees and provides feedback on the same to aid the employees in developing and enhancing skills.
• Monitors performance of direct reports and approves performance appraisals.
• Reviews and approves all recommendations and suggestions to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, discharge, evaluate, assign, and discipline all employees fairly and equitably.
• Responsible for the scheduling, evaluating, and training of the Beverage department employees, ensuring staff’s compliance with all customer service standards.
• Responsible for listening to, evaluating, and assuring control of customer grievances.
• Must maintain constant awareness of services, promotions, and events to inform personnel and
• Must possess the ability to perform a high level of departmental training.
• Confers with beverage manager and upper management concerning operational deficiencies and areas in need of attention.
• Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
• Responsible for assisting with AVA Amphitheater and other events that upper management requires.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Essential functions of the position:

• Must be able to lift, carry, and transport materials and/or equipment frequently up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to reach high areas, stoop, pull, push, kneel, squat, twist, grip, and bend for duties.
• Must be able to work at and travel to all CDS properties.
• Must be able to follow both verbal and written directions.
• Must be able to read, write, and effectively communicate with all guests and team members positively and professionally.
• Must be able to work in environments with high noise levels, flashing lights, smoking areas, and large crowds.
• Must be able to work in a high-pressure/fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in person, by two-way radio, telephone, and written correspondence.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of beverage purchasing, inventory control, and scheduling.
• Knowledge of bar areas and tools and items used to complete duties.
• Planning, organizational, and time management skills.
• Skill in working courteously with guests as well as developing and maintaininggood working relationships.
• Ability to multitask and make sound decisions.
• Ability to communicate and follow directions effectively.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations of the position.
• Ability to remain reliable.
• Ability to inspire other team members to provide the highest level of guest service.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and manage multiple areas at once.
• Ability to interpret extensive technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Three (3) years of beverage management or supervisory experience required.
• Two (2) years of event or convention food & beverage or high bar environment OR one (1) year as a Bar Manager.
• Must have valid Alcohol Awareness & Food Handlers cards.
• Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed.
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening in accordance with company policy.
• Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
• Must be able to obtain and retain a valid gaming license/background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

• United States Bartenders’ Guild of Spirits Professional Certification.
• Associate's degree in a hospitality-related program.
