When you work in Hawaii, in addition to learning about the functional aspects of running a hotel — like the proper way to make a bed or how to best handle luggage — it’s critically important to understand Hawaiian culture and the spirit of ‘ohana, or ‘family.’ When opening the first Andaz property in Hawaii, our team participated in Hawaiian culture training to help us understand what ‘ohana truly means.
To provide strategic leadership and direction for all MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and Events sales activities within the hotel, working closely with Rooms, Food & Beverage, and other revenue-generating departments to maximize revenue opportunities, drive event business, enhance client relationships, and ensure the successful execution of meetings, conferences, social events, and group bookings. Responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, achieving revenue targets, and strengthening the hotel's position in the MICE and Events market.
QualificationsIdeally with a university degree or diploma in Marketing, Hospitality, Tourism Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum 2 years of work experience as a Director of Sales, Associate Director of Sales, Director of Events, or a similar leadership role within MICE and Events sales. Strong networking, negotiation, problem-solving, administrative, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and managing key client relationships.
