Human Resources Manager & Community Engagement Manager The Center for Courageous Kids — Scottsville, Kentucky
At The Center for Courageous Kids (CCK), work is more than a job — it is an opportunity to create joy, confidence, and belonging for children with disabilities and lifelong illnesses and their families. Every year, thousands of campers experience the freedom of camp at no cost to their families. Behind every camper experience is a team of dedicated professionals and volunteers who make that mission possible.
CCK is seeking a Human Resources Manager & Community Engagement Manager who is passionate about people, culture, and community. This role is ideal for someone who believes great organizations are built through strong relationships — both inside and outside the organization — and who wants to play a meaningful role in shaping the employee and corporate volunteer experience at a mission-driven nonprofit.
The Human Resources Manager supports approximately 30 full-time employees year‑round and leads HR processes that scale to support an additional 60 seasonal team members during the summer camp, helping ensure a consistent, welcoming, and mission‑focused culture throughout the year.
The Human Resources & Community Engagement Manager serves as a strategic partner to leadership and staff, supporting a positive, compliant, and mission‑driven workplace culture. This individual oversees core human resources functions including employee relations, recruitment, engagement, performance management, and organizational policies and practices.
In addition, this role leads CCK’s corporate volunteer and community engagement efforts, helping create meaningful volunteer experiences that support camp operations while strengthening relationships with corporate and community partners. From welcoming new employees to coordinating volunteer groups who help make camp possible, this position plays a central role in ensuring CCK remains a welcoming, organized, and people‑focused environment.
This is a stand‑alone Human Resources role responsible for supporting full‑time employees year‑round, with seasonal growth in headcount during the summer months. The position reports directly to the President & CEO and provides both strategic leadership and day‑to‑day Human Resources support across the organization.
