Job Skills / RequirementsThe Benefits Manager oversees the administration of all employee benefits programs, ensuring alignment with TJC workforce standards, CMS requirements, and federal benefits regulations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that employees’ health, wellness, and availability support safe, high-quality patient care.
- Manage medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, wellness, FMLA, ADA accommodations, and workers’ compensation programs.
- Ensure ERISA, HIPAA, ACA and state‑specific benefits compliance.
- Support compliance with employee health, safety, and immunization requirements.
- Ensure benefit and leave documentation is maintained in a secure, retrievable format for TJC and CMS audits.
- Coordinate with Employee Health to ensure health screenings (e.g., TB, immunizations, fit testing) are tracked and documented in personnel files.
- Administer leave of absence programs to ensure proper documentation, communication with department leaders, and minimal impact on patient care staffing levels.
- Track FMLA and ADA leaves to ensure compliance and readiness for regulatory review.
- Maintain benefit eligibility rosters, documentation, and annual compliance reporting.
- Conduct internal audits of benefit files to ensure documentation is current and compliant.
- Maintain clear records of all benefits enrollment, eligibility, and compliance data.
- Ensure benefit‑related records are survey‑ready and consistent with TJC and DOL regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Required Education – High school diploma
- Required Minimum Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities- Minimum of five (5) years of benefits administration experience, preferably in healthcare.
- Deep understanding of regulatory compliance in employee benefits.
- Knowledge of TJC standards and HR regulatory requirements.
- Preferred Education, Licensure and Certifications
- CEBS certification
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field
HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT
