Position: Human Resources Benefits Technician – Casino
Location: Northern

Incumbent in this position researches benefits, screens reception, word processing, typing, proofreading, record and file maintenance, public contact, forms processing, and technical and general administrative activities requiring access to information affecting employee benefits in support of the Human Resources Department of San Felipe Enterprises.

TYPICAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist employees with personnel information and interpretation of personnel policies and procedures.

Monitors and track the Drug Policy Administration.

Process monthly/annual monetary contributions per benefits administration.

Handles payroll deductions for Tribal Loans and miscellaneous (membership fees for Sam’s Club, COSTCO).

Notifies employees regarding garnishments and handles the payroll deductions (IRS, Child Support, Student Federal Loans and authorized default loans through Tribal Court.

Benefits administration; changes in status, data input and record maintenance.

Maintain employee FMLA process to include leave log and accurate balances.

Monthly reporting to Human Resources Director; employee medical, leave, birthday, etc.

Enter all personnel information into the HRIS System.

Purge outdated benefits, medical and training files as needed.

Provide information to employers regarding employment verification.

Send out applicants acknowledgement letters.

Manage insurance programs such as medical and dental, vision, short/long term disability, long term disability, life, accidental and dismemberment, Cobra and supplemental plans.

Reconciles insurances billings for accuracies and discrepancies.

Conduct New Hire Orientation for new employees and organizes annual Inappropriate Behavior training.

making for Travel Center employees.

Organizes the implementation and management changes for the Benefits Open Enrollment.

Employee recognition/special events coordination: recognition items;
Employee Appreciation Day, Employee Parties, Club membership (Sam’s Club, COSTCO, US Bank, Wells Fargo) Sponsorship Walks.

Answer departmental phone and take messages as needed.

Attend and satisfactorily complete all training assigned by the Director of Human Resources.

Must perform job duties in accordance with Casino Safety Policies and Procedures.

Maintain professional hygiene and appearance.

Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma, or equivalent, required AND 1 year clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Extended working hours, including weekends, may be required.

Must possess Class III Gaming License.
